About the Author

Jesse Hayden has been fascinated by stories for as long as he can remember. Growing up as a missionary kid, he filled all the notebooks he could find with fantasy tales, secret agent sagas, sci-fi adventures, and skateboard comics. As a cultural anthropology major at Wheaton College, he studied the narratives that bind people groups together and the ways that writing can be used to empower marginalized communities. Now, as an educator working with refugees in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he writes blog pieces that explore the intersections between art, daily life, and spirituality. When he’s not writing, he enjoys listening to bagpipes, walking in the rain, learning about whales, eating grapefruit, and pretending to be British.
